Coconut trees are found across much of the tropical and sub-tropical areas in the world. A coconut is the largest known seed found in the plant world. Once a coconut falls from the tree, it takes about three years for the coconut seed to take root and sprout into a young tree. The origins of the coconuts have been lost to history. The scientists believe it originated from the Indian Archipelago or Polynesia.
